NYC will welcome 56 new hotels between now and the end of 2016, including at least 15 in Brooklyn. Here's a look at 8 of the most eye-catching Brooklyn hotels in the pipeline.

Not exactly what you think of when you hear "Holiday Inn" is it? The familiar brand is building an $80M lodge in Downtown Brooklyn, just a few blocks away from developer K.K. Mehta's new Indigo Hotel. The 246-room inn will stand 15 stories tall, with 3k SF of meeting space, a health club and a ballroom.

This 13-story hotel will be IHG Group's third EVEN hotel in New York. Designed for the health and wellness-minded traveler, the lodge will have adaptable public workspaces, flexible meeting spaces, an open-style market and bar, and a fitness studio, just blocks from the Barclays Center in Downtown Brooklyn.

This buzzworthy DUMBO hotel is a JV with Starwood Capital and Toll Brothers City Living. The eco-luxury property will feature East River views and access to the park. The Marvel Architects-designed development will also have 100 condos.

This $13M boutique hotel is being developed by Union Hotel developer Alec Shtromandel and Beatrice Inn operator Matt Abramcyk. The up-and-coming location is surrounded by restaurants, boutique shopping and that distinctively Gowanus vibe.

This historic Brooklyn Heights lodge is undergoing a restoration. It will return as a boutique hotel with a rooftop restaurant.

Now known as the William Vale (a mysteriously debonair name), you'll be hard-pressed to look up upcoming Brooklyn hotels without coming across this one. The 20-story mixed-use building with retail, offices and hotels is being developed by Zelig Weiss. It'll also be situated right in the middle of all the Williamsburg action.

This Williamsburg branch of the increasingly popular Pod brand will be roughly 100k SF. Its 100 SF rooms will have strategically placed windows to bring the outside in. But perhaps the most interesting detail is that the modular hotel will actually be built in Europe. It's being developed by SK Development and CBSK Ironstate, with Garrison Architects designing.

Opening: 2016
This will be the Williamsburg branch of the London-based brand. Once labeled the "no BS" hotel, and the "anti-hotel," it should fit in perfectly with Williamsburg's artistic Millennials. The Perkins Eastman-designed building will stand nine stories tall, and have 50k SF of commercial space.
