Simone Development has brought on a former high-ranking public servant in Westchester County.
The Bronx-based developer announced the hiring of Kevin J. Plunkett as director of strategic initiatives Wednesday. Plunkett had served as Westchester deputy county executive since 2010. Prior to that post, Plunkett worked at three law firms, including 20 years as equity member of Plunkett & Jaffe.
The position of director of strategic initiatives is a new one created for Plunkett, who Simone Development President Joseph Simone praised for bringing "an impressive record of both private and public service” to the firm.
“[Plunkett's] career background brings a wealth of knowledge of both Westchester County and the entire region, and provides Simone Development with a unique resource," Simone said in a statement.
Simone owns office, residential, retail and healthcare properties in Westchester County, which has seen a rise in commercial development in the past year or so, particularly in New Rochelle.
