UT Dallas Combines Student Housing, Mixed-Use & TOD

Construction has started on a 13-acre mixed-use project just north of the University of Texas Dallas. The university owns the land and is leasing it to co-developers Balfour Beatty Campus Solutions and Wynne/Jackson for the transit oriented development (located across the street from the campus at Synergy Park Boulevard and Floyd Road). The 370k SF project, called Northside, will include 20k SF of retail and 600 beds through a mix of apartments and townhomes. The central spine of the development is planned to provide a park-like pedestrian mall that can be closed off to accommodate events. The project is slated for a fall 2016 completion. [UTD]
