Whole Foods 365 Sets Opening Date

Whole Foods will open its first “365” budget-minded store on May 25 in the LA neighborhood of Silver Lake.

365’s opening date is set for a bit more than a year after the green grocer announced plans for a new store concept that would offer lower prices than its original stores, after fierce competition in the organic food space started eating up Whole Foods’ profits, Fortune reports.

Whole Foods plans to keep prices down at 365 by, in part, building smaller stores and having a limited product mix.

The 28k SF Silver Lake location was in development to be a regular Whole Foods store when the company decided it was small enough and in the right location to become the first 365. [Fortune]
