Top 10 States Bit by the Telecommuting Bug

FlexJobs analyzed data from job seekers in the Q1 to determine the top 10 states where residents are pursuing remote work. 100% telecommuting jobs are considered most desirable, and New York and Maryland are among the top five states where telecommuters save the most money, with $11,974 and $11,725 more in their pockets, respectively. The trend extends from working parents to Millennial's to semi-retirees, but data from the US Census reveals the typical telecommuter is a 49-year-old, college educated, salaried non-union employee earning $58,000 a year in a management or professional role at a company with more than 100 employees. Here are the top 10 states with the most people who want to work from home:

2. California
3. Florida
4. New York
5. Virginia
6. Pennsylvania
7. Georgia
8. North Carolina
9. Colorado
10. Maryland
