Office construction is expected to soar this year as companies work to attract new employees in robust areas of the country.
That’s according to the 2017 Dodge Construction Outlook from Dodge Data & Analytics, which said construction starts will increase 10% in 2017 to add 10M SF more space than last year, Construction Dive reports. Construction activity isn’t expected to grow equally across the country, with firms honing in on vibrant downtown districts in cities like NYC, San Francisco and Chicago, but also building out in smaller cities like Nashville, Tenn., and Raleigh, N.C.
Experts are also watching Millennials, expecting them to increasingly move to the suburbs as they age and begin starting families. [CD]
