Atherton, CA, a small Silicon Valley town near Facebook and Google, has been named America's most expensive ZIP code by Forbes Magazine for the third year in a row. So you know there are some hot properties in that area.

With the help of Point2Homes, Business Insider found 15 of the most expensive homes in the neighborhood, the cheapest of which is a jaw-dropping $10M.

Standouts include:

  • an $11.4M mansion on a two-acre lot, just a nine-minute walk (three-minute drive) from downtown Atherton;

  • a seven-bedroom mansion with spiral staircases, heated floors, a temperature-controlled wine cellar, home theater, gym and spa, for $11.8M;

  • an 11k SF, $15.8M pad with 25-foot ceilings, a double-height master suite and library, and a grand ballroom; and

  • $20.7M Spanish-inspired home with a 5,000-bottle wine cellar, two executive offices, an oversized dining room, a solar-heated pool and a golf practice hole.

There's even a home that was featured in Architectural Digest. The three-story, $22.8M home was custom-built for its owners in a style that evokes traditional European luxury. It has a fitness center, a steam room and a billiards room.

And the most expensive home is a $39.5M mansion built in 1939 by starchitect Paul Williams. The home was restored in 2007, and true to its location, it's decked out in tech, to manage lighting, climate and security systems. [BI]
