Luxury apartments are increasingly offering co-working space as American work habits continue to permeate the home.
Residential developers have not been blind to the explosion of co-working practices, and with the latest Gallup survey showing 43% of working Americans spend at least some time working remotely, many luxury apartment buildings are swapping the outdated conference room for trendy co-working spaces, the New York Times reports. With a dedicated WeWork desk often starting at $550 a month in New York, developers from Related Cos. to GAIA Real Estate said co-working spaces help attract tenants.
The demand for comfortable, creative co-working spaces inside apartment developments will grow as the expectation that American workers should be available to work around the clock gains momentum.
