New Castle's TLC

This week, New Castle Hotels and Resorts announced a second wave of growth along the Eastern seaboard. COO Gerry Chase tells us it'll focus on new builds and acquisitions it can stabilize, especially historic hotels it can bring back to their former grandeur. With six projects in the pipeline (like the under-development Westin Jekyll Island in Georgia, Hampton Inn and Suites & Marina in Fort Lauderdale, and a Residence Inn in Boston), NCHR has its eyes on Florida, the Carolinas, Boston, and Philly. Gerry’s from a hotel family—his twin brother was with Marriott and son Mark is VP of development for Hyatt. (Thanksgiving involves more RevPAR talk than you might be used to.) He even met his wife while working for Marriott at the start of his career (when the portfolio only had 22 hotels and it was against company policy to date co-workers… quite the rebel, Gerry).
