Johnny Depp Asks $26M for French Estate

If you've been waiting for the perfect moment to buy a tiny village in the south of France, formerly owned by an A-lister, your wait is over. Johnny Depp has listed his estate near the village of Plan-de-la-Tour for $26M. He purchased the 37-acre hamlet in 2001 and spent about $10M restoring its buildings, the Wall Street Journal reports. The estate has more than a dozen buildings surrounding a village square, with a church-turned-guest house, and other buildings that are made to look like local businesses. Depp did most of the decorating himself, even incorporating a Pirates of the Caribbean design into a wine cave in the main house. This 4,300 SF main residence has five bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms and an art studio. There are also several guest cottages, two swimming pools, a gym and a skate park with a halfpipe. Depp's furniture, books, DVDs, art and other personal belongings are included in the sale. The property is listed by Côte d’Azur Sotheby's International Realty. [WSJ]
