The Bozzuto Group CEO and NMHC chairman Tom Bozzuto had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity Wednesday: He interviewed former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton at the NMHC Apartment Finance Strategies Conference. Secretary Clintonshrugged off Toms question about 2016: "That is certainly a question I haven't been asked--in all of 12 minutes. I'm just returning to civilian life and getting reacquainted with something called normal life." More than 300 execs were at the eventSecretary Clintons first paid speaking engagement since leaving office.

Secretary Clinton discussed foreign affairs and domestic issues like the nations spiraling deficit, but Tom tells us his favorite part was her discussion on leadership. She cited Nelson Mandela as a role model, and she argued that to be a leader, one has to work endlessly, mix it up as necessary, and simply never quit. He says the most fun thing about interviewing her was getting beyond the black and white two-dimensional representation of her he sees in national media. (We know, everything's better in 3D.)
