| Many of you know me as Bisnow's New York reporter, Amanda Marsh—and I wouldn't be working in real estate if it weren't for a minor inconvenience called cancer. In ‘05, fresh out of college, I received my first job offer and a Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma diagnosis on the same day—but with the help of my doctors and six rounds of chemo, went into remission that September. (After I finished, a job opened up at Commercial Property News—my first jump into real estate journalism.) To celebrate my fifth year of remission, I'm raising$5,000 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Light The Night Walk, in which I'll be walking on 10/23 at Long Island's Suffolk County Ballpark with my team Squash Lymphoma (named after painting my entire bald head orange and going as a pumpkin that Halloween, complete with a glued-on stem, above). |
