It's looking good for the revitalization of the LA River.
The LA City Council has voted in favor of restoring 11 miles of the 51-mile river.
The council made the move last week to approve a project that will cover the stretch from Griffith Park to Downtown LA.
Alternative 20 is one of three plans on the drawing board for the US Army Corps of Engineers, according to Curbed.
This plan was backed two years ago after a previous proposal was scrapped.
Despite some controversy, architect Frank Gehry has agreed to work on the project.
It had previously been expected to cost close to $1B but will probably exceed that amount.
The city could pay more than $980M and would split the cost with the federal government.
