Hollywood Palladium Towers Project Wins City Council Approval

Despite opposition, the Hollywood Palladium project was approved yesterday by the LA City Council.

The project, with 731 apartments that would be built adjacent to the Palladium, is being threatened by the possibility of an anti-development initiative on an upcoming ballot.

The LA City Council voted unanimously to back the project, according to Curbed.

It would include two 28-story towers by developer Crescent Heights. The Hollywood Palladium would be preserved as part of the plan.

The developer says the decision will help aid in the efforts to restore the Hollywood Palladium. The AIDS Healthcare Foundation, which neighbors the project, is opposed to the plan. [Curbed]
