No Growing Pains

As with most five-year-olds, Jones Lang's New Jersey office, which began with three brokers and one office, is growing like weeds. One Staubach acquisition and a capital markets team addition later, it has blossomed into a firm with 525 professionals, of which 50 are brokers. JLL plans plans to expand even further, market director Jonathan Meisel (center, with the firm's Dan Loughlin and Rob Kossar) tells us. It's already hired 10 new people this year, including former ProLogis exec Lisa Clark, who's SVP of the industrial practice. It's also taken a leadership role in environmental sustainability and energy management; 15 employees are LEED APs and its Parsippany office achieved LEED-CI Silver.

And what's a birthday without a present? During its 23rd annual gala May 15, NAIOP's New Jersey chapter bestowed its Chairman's Award, which recognizes people, entities, or real estate transactions that result in a trend, landscape alteration, or new way of doing business. Here Heller Industrial Parks' Jeffrey Milanaik (chapter president) gives the award to Jon for JLL's overall contributions to commercial real estate to NJ. JLL has three NJ offices—Parsipanny,Hasbrook Heights, and Iselin—and continues to actively recruit top-producing brokers in the state to gain market share, with the goal to grow to at least 65 brokers for its tenant rep, agent rep, and industrial practices over the next year, Jon says.
