This morning, we chatted with KTGY Architecture + Planning principal Manny Gonzalez (with wife Marti), a panelist at our BMAC West Conference next week (sign up here). Mannytells us his Santa Monica office has some 4,000 units in various stages of design or construction, including KB Home's 2,100-condo Communications Hill--Phase 2 of a master plan in San Jose.A lot of what's driving the apartment market right now is location--like Downtown LA, where KTGY recently finished the renovation of Angelus Plaza, the country's largest age-restricted affordable community. An interesting aside: He just stepped down after 15 years of youth sports management and boards, giving Manny and Marti time to "take more trips and see more of this country."
