Colliers International has recruited Chris Baer as an EVP in the Downtown LA office from Avison Young. The 26-year veteran has worked almost exclusively with entertainment clients--he helped assemble the Media District of Burbank, involving 14 properties and 10 separate owners. (Being able to coordinate that many people means he should get into directing movies.) Last year, Chris completed 35 deals at AY, including co-rep of Roundabout Entertainment on the lease and purchase of 50k SF of creative/flex office space in Burbank. He was also the firm's top sales producer for the LA region in 2012. Before that, Chris spent 21 years with the former Grubb & Ellis and also was a principal in Ramsey-Shilling. He also moonlights as a CPA. No wonder he needs the hands-free phone. He could probably use another hand as well.
