Marianne Lowenthal EVP of National Development, Combined Properties

After getting her MBA from UCLA in 1985, Marianne Lowenthal started in the development division of Prudential Realty Group, responsible for several development projects until the downturn of the late ‘80s and early ‘90s. She then started working on JV projects like Century Plaza Towers and San Francisco’s Embarcadero Center. After Prudential closed its real estate group, she started her own company, but given the competitive environment for money, she decided to join Larry Bond at the Bond Cos where she was tapped to work on Hollywood’s first major mixed-use project, Sunset & Vine. After successfully completing that project and a number of others, Combined Properties founder Ron Haft asked her to lead his firm’s development division in 2005. She’s now charged with $1B in development nationwide, including mixed-use hotel and condo Sunset Time in West Hollywood, a 115k SF office and retail building in Downtown Culver City, and a 48-unit apartment project on Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood breaking ground in late January. Her advice: “Always speak up and give your opinion, and don’t get slotted into typical female roles.” Outside of work, she loves playing tennis and golf, as well as spending time with her two standard poodles, Sami and Lilly.
