Warming up over brunch Sunday at The Tavern in Brentwood, we snapped Clarion Partners' Richard Pink (with wife Gloria), fresh from winter challenges in Dallas. There for a partners retreat, he and his colleagues planned some golf. Instead, they got a freak ice storm that closed the airport and forced them to leave from Austin. Six of them crammed into a van and skidded out of Dallas like they were driving a Zamboni. Highlight of the trip? Stopping in Waco at Lula Jane's for crunchy oatmeal and bacon cheese scones. Of course, what would have thawed them best? Why, a Pink's hot dog!
