The Shard Secures Three New Leases

The Shard signed three tenants, leaving less than 10% of the space in the London landmark available. Tukcorp is moving its London headquarters to the Shard, while NY-based valuations and corporate finance adviser Duff & Phelps and an FTSE 100 company also snapped up new leases.

Tukcorp, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tabcorp Holdings Ltd, has taken 7k SF on level 13. The space will be used for Tabcorp’s new online UK wagering business, Sun Bets, which launched in early August with partner News UK. Tabcorp employs more than 3,000 people predominately based in Australia.

Duff & Phelps occupies 28k SF on level 14 and has agreed to take a new lease of 4k SF on level 13, making The Shard its biggest European base. It is the second time Duff & Phelps has increased its office space within The Shard. Duff & Phelps has over 2,500 employees across 60 offices and provides global valuation and corporate finance advice to publicly traded and privately held companies.

In a separate deal, an undisclosed FTSE 100 company agreed to lease over 8k SF on level 13.

In addition to the new leases, The Shard’s broadband and telecoms infrastructure was recently awarded a platinum rating by WiredScore.
