The luxury wing of The Galleria mall will soon be a tad bit more luxurious.

Boutique designer Tom Ford is opening a store in Houston, joining Chanel, Valentino, Louis Vuitton and Saint Laurent. The brand is also launching at Phipps Plaza in Atlanta.

"Houston and Atlanta continue to be very strong markets for our business, and we look forward to serving our customers in these new stores," CEO and Creative Director Tom Ford said in a release.

More than 30 million people annually visit The Galleria, the largest shopping center in Texas. Spanning 2.4M SF, the mixed-use development includes about 400 stores and restaurants, two high-rise hotels and three office towers. It is owned by a joint venture between Simon and Institutional Mall Investors.

According to the Houston Chronicle, the new store would be a relocation from River Oaks District, not an additional location for the brand. Bisnow has not confirmed this information.

"Simon and Tom Ford are a perfect fit combining one of fashion's most prestigious names with two of Simon's leading properties," Simon Senior Vice President of Luxury Leasing Velda Turan said in a release.

Simon's Phipps Plaza offers upscale shopping, dining and entertainment options within Atlanta's Buckhead district.

A massive redevelopment is underway, which started in October 2018. The expansion includes Nobu Hotel and Restaurant Atlanta, a 90K SF Life Time and One Phipps Plaza, a 13-story, 350K SF Class-A office building. The reimagined plaza is set to open in phases beginning in 2020.
