Pete Rose, the Hit King, is heavily involved in the development of the new Hit King Baseball Academy in Katy. The project is a JV between The Bull Pen Scouting and Training Facility in Cypress, owned by former Pittsburgh Pirate Derek Hurley, and Katy-based No Label Brewing Co, which will create a Pete Rose line of beers for the establishment.
The 20-acre plot will train youth, high school and college players in the major skills of America's favorite pastime. The academy will feature an in-house sports bar named The Rose Garden for patrons to enjoy a specialty beer after batting. Pete Rose is betting the business will be a success. (Sorry, too soon?)
