Houston-based Capital Retail Properties broke ground on La Marque Crossing, a 15K SF retail center at the Northwest corner of Interstate 45 and FM 1764, adjacent to the new 2,000-acre Lago Mar master planned community slated to add approximately 4,000 homes. Positioned at the entrance to both La Marque and Texas City, La Marque Crossing will occupy a 1.4-acre pad site in front of a Sam’s Club and a Walmart Supercenter, a short drive from Tanger Outlets and Buc-ee's.

Pre-leasing has already begun. La Marque Crossing is anticipated to deliver space to tenants, including GNC and Leslie’s Pool Supplies, in March. GNC will occupy 1,400 SF, and Leslie’s has committed to 3,300 SF.

The project on Houston's Southside is a slight deviation from Capital Retail Properties' focus on Houston's Northside where the firm just completed construction of Birnham Woods Marketplace, a 230K SF Kroger-anchored development; the Shops at Spring Village, a 21K SF shopping center at 2209 Spring Stuebner Road near the ExxonMobil campus and across from a new Kroger Marketplace; and Gleannloch Crossing, a 57K SF retail development across from a new H-E-B at Champions Forest Drive and the Grand Parkway.
