Another Contender Enters The High-End Barbershop Wars

Competition is cutthroat in Houston's high-end barbershop sector. Hammer & Nails announced plans for a new location in the Towne Lake community near Cypress. Austin-based Finley's is planning two more Houston locations by the end of Q2 2017. Another Austin transplant, Birds Barbershop, opened last December in the Heights.

The Boardroom Salon for Men, Shave, The Argyle League, Cutthroat, and Martin's Gentlemen Salon are already operating in Houston. CBRE's Jazz Hamilton told a group of reporters even more are considering joining the fray, including Lady Jane's and V's Barbershop.

Hammer & Nails, which was featured on "Shark Tank" in 2014, estimates the high-end male grooming market is worth abut $21B.
