Houston Can't Wait for the Bike Lane

Construction began this weekend on Houston's first bike lane, and bicyclists throughout the city are pumped. The two-way protected lane runs down Lamar in Downtown Houston from Discovery Green to Bagby/Sam Houston Park, connecting the Buffalo Bayou trails to the Columbia Tap trail. Bike Houston's been stopping by regularly for updated pics, and Critical Mass Houston even gave it the GoPro treatment. Construction crews will only work on the weekends, the Chronicle reports, and the lane will be fully up and running March 8.
