Six Houston-area residents were killed in a plane crash in Texas during a trip to survey some land, according to media reports.

The plane left West Houston Airport in Katy on Monday morning and was expected to land at the Kerrville Municipal Airport near San Antonio but crashed about 10 miles outside of the airport.

Jeffrey Weiss was the pilot and co-owner of the plane. He was a senior vice president of investments at financial advisory firm Raymond James & Associates in Houston and was on the advisory board of the Houston Aeronautical Heritage Society, according to ABC13 and the Houston Chronicle.

According to multiple reports, the passengers were Stuart Roben Kensinger, Angela Webb Kensinger, Mark Damien Scioneaux, Scott Reagan Miller and Marc Tellepsen.

Tellepsen owned landscape architecture firm Tellepsen Landscaping and was related to the founders of Houston-based construction firm Tellepsen Builders, his company confirmed to ABC13.

Scioneaux, the husband of Houston Ballet Artistic Director Stanton Welch, also worked in architecture and planning for Tellepsen Landscaping, per ABC13.

Stuart was also in real estate, and Miller was reportedly an architect, according to Click2Houston.com.

An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
