Humble City Council approved a $321K economic investment incentive for a metallic wire manufacturer that plans to build a 155K SF facility at PortNorth 59 Industrial Park, marking something of an about-face from late last year when it revoked the park's certificate of occupancy.

Technofil USA's two-building facility is slated for an industrial park project by Phelan Development on Rankin Road in Humble, north of Houston, Community Impact reported.
The economic incentive approval represents a friendlier attitude toward the development from the council, which revoked PortNorth 59’s certificate of occupancy in December.
The park began operations, including Amazon distribution, on Nov. 19, Community Impact reported. By the first week of December, nearly 1,000 semitrucks were sent to the facility, limiting safe entry to a nearby subdivision and prompting the mayor to issue a local disaster declaration.
The certificate of occupancy revocation was expected to remain in effect until Phelan Development and Amazon reached a solution for the traffic issue. Phelan Development vowed to do just that at a Dec. 12 council meeting, according to the article.
Technofil USA is expected to invest $22M into building the manufacturing facility, which it plans to occupy through a 10-year lease, Partnership Lake Houston Chief Economic Development Officer Stephanie Smith said at a Tuesday council meeting, according to Community Impact.
The $321K incentive would cover sanitary sewer improvements for the property. The facility would bring 160 jobs to the area and an $11.5M return on investment, Smith said.
