Venu Holding Corp. plans to build a 12,500-capacity amphitheater in Webster, a growing southeast Houston suburb.

The $150M project, named Sunset Amphitheater Houston at Webster powered by Eight Elite Light Beer, will be constructed through a public-private partnership of Colorado-based Venu, the city of Webster and the Webster Economic Development Corp.
The amphitheater will be at Webster’s Flyway, an entertainment and tourism mixed-use development anchored by Great Wolf Lodge, an indoor waterpark, resort hotel and conference center.
Venu stated Thursday that it had signed a letter of intent with Webster for the project, but did not provide an expected construction timeline. It anticipates finalizing a development agreement and releasing additional details in the coming months.
“This amphitheater advances Webster’s super-regional draw and builds on strengths that continue to fuel Flyway’s momentum,” Webster Mayor Donna Jasso said in a statement. “We are proud to partner with VENU on a project that reflects the scale, ambition, and energy of our vision for Webster’s future.”
Sunset Amphitheater Houston will be constructed on a 34-acre site with adjacent land for parking and infrastructure. The amphitheater will feature a canopy roof and wind walls, enabling year-round live entertainment.
The project will include the Aikman Club, a 240-seat, membership-based space built in partnership with Troy Aikman, former NFL star quarterback and founder of Eight Elite Light Beer. Surrounding the Aikman Club will be 217 Luxe FireSuites, each seating four to 10 people.
Venu is also building a 20,000-capacity amphitheater in McKinney, which is slated to open next year.
The Webster area has seen significant growth in recent years with Great Wolf Lodge, Sports Illustrated Resorts and Margaritaville all planning resort locations along the Houston-Galveston corridor, though the Sports Illustrated plans reportedly fell through. The area is also in proximity to NASA’s Space Center Houston.
The first business to open in the Flyway development last year was Chicken N Pickle, a restaurant with indoor and outdoor pickleball courts. Great Wolf Lodge opened in August 2024.
