A boutique mid-rise condominium building set to go up in River Oaks will feature homes starting at $1.7M and penthouses starting at $4.3M, according to Pelican Builders, which will construct the project.

The Lexington will include 114K SF of residential space, eight floors and 40 residences. The first two floors will offer parking, while level three will house a resident lounge, a gym and air-conditioned storage units for residents, according to a news release.
Pelican Builders expects to break ground in Q1 2023 and deliver residences 18 months later.
Kirksey Architecture designed the project at 2419 Mimosa Drive. The location is one block away from The Revere, another upscale condo collaboration between Kirksey and Pelican Builders, which opened in summer 2020 and sold out in August, suggesting a robust market for luxury units.
Kirksey and Pelican have been delivering luxury condos in Houston for years, previously collaborating on The Wilshire at River Oaks District, a 17-story high-rise with 96 condos on Westcreek Lane that opened in 2016.
Douglas Elliman Development Marketing has begun selling and marketing The Lexington and will handle both exclusively.
Selling points of the residences include extensive terraces, smart home capabilities, walk-in showers and outdoor pet potty stations. The Lexington will also offer the ability to incorporate a complete backup generator for each resident home, “to cultivate peace of mind for residents in knowing that they will be well-equipped for Houston’s next major weather event,” the release states.
The design of The Lexington will carry on the River Oaks neighborhood’s traditional stately architecture and blend in at an unassuming scale, according to the release.
“As with The Revere before it, we intend to bring a sophisticated, single-level way of living to this ever-transitioning area nestled between River Oaks and Avalon Place via The Lexington,” Pelican Builders President Derek Darnell said in the release. “This intimate urban pocket has proven to be the area of choice for River Oaks residents who travel, own second homes, or simply desire a maintenance-free, lock-and-leave lifestyle.”
The Lexington intends to bring some New York style to Houston with a lobby reminiscent of Park Avenue — something they also did at The Revere — along with 24-hour concierge services, valet parking and professional management, the builders said in the release.
