Ann Arbor-based May Mobility is testing a pair of autonomous vehicles on Detroit streets this week.

The shuttles will take employees of Bedrock LLC from the First National Building in Cadillac Square to the Bricktown Parking Garage, which is at Beaubien and Fort streets, Crain's Detroit Business reports.

The vehicles will take a specific route: along Congress Street to Beaubien Street, then to Monroe Avenue, then to Farmer and Bates streets, and finally back to Congress Street.

Medina, Minnesota-based Polaris Industries Inc. makes the six-seat electric vehicles, two of which will be used for the test runs.

Though the vehicles are self-driving, human drivers will also ride with the vehicles in case of emergency. The testing is scheduled for between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. Monday through Friday this week.
