Apparently Herb ran—or biked—into trouble when he found himself in a storm during a ride with his family, so he took cover in…a portable toilet. "I took refuge when I suddenly got caught in a lightning and rain storm on my 10-mile mountain bike ride in Mt. Crested Butte,” he tells us.

Transwestern principal Randy Garrett and his wife, Marialice, have been to five of the seven continents—so far. This summer, the adventurers went to Morocco and the Sahara Desert. They rode camels into the Sahara, watched the sun set over the desert and slept in a berber tent.
