Thakkar Developers secured permission from the Plano City Council Monday to adjust plans for its 36-acre Mustang Square mixed-use development, allowing the firm to incorporate detached single-family villas into its project.

The mixed-use development will be constructed at the corner of State Highway 121 and Rasor Boulevard in Plano, offering 98 single-family homes, offices, retail, restaurants and entertainment.

“We are pleased to be able to offer this single-family luxury villa product to meet the needs of Plano homebuyers,” Thakkar Developers CEO Poorvesh Thakkar said. “The villas will include a range of custom options, including elevators, and construction is expected to begin in 2020.”

Council members credited Thakkar at the Monday meeting for effectively working with the city and for going back to the drawing board several times to ensure the development incorporates products that fit in with the demands and expectations of the local community.
