Stream Data Centers broke ground on its second data center in Legacy Business Park in Plano and 10th in Texas. The 145k SF speculative data center for enterprise users and large-scale cloud providers will deliver in October.
The center, called DFW VI, will have a 145k SF powered shell expandable to 265k SF. Stream’s first data center in Legacy, DFW III, is a 150k SF center that is expandable to 350k SF. Research in Motion now owns DFW III.
Two 20 megawatt utility feeds will come from separate substations, and a third is available for expansion. Four diverse fiber routes allow for redundant connectivity. The 16-acre site is outside the 500-year flood plain.
