Record Breaking Leases; The Deal Sheet

Through the first six months of 2010, Hillwood leased 2.6M SF at its AllianceTexas development. (Last year was 1.9M SF.) That's the highest lease total for the first half of a year in the project's 21-year history, exceeding the previous high of 2.1M SF in the first six months of 2007.
 
Of the 2.6M SF leased so far in 2010, 1M SF are new deals and 1.6M SF are renewals. Highlighting the leasing activity through the first six months of 2010 at was LG Electronics  relocating its cell phone repair unit from Alabama to 165k SF. Other big deals include Exel Logistics, which expanded the North American Distribution Center that it operates for LEGO from the 403k SF Gateway 62 building to 596k SF in the nearby Gateway 60. Texas Instruments,LockheedRyder and Tarrant County College renewed leases at AllianceTexas. Several new retailers either completed leases or held grand openings at Alliance Town Center and Monterra Village apartment home community is 96% leased.
