What You Don't Know About Eliza Solender

Solender/Hall prez Eliza Solender is known for repping non-profit orgs in all of their real estate needs. A great example: backing The Westwood School lease 75k SF at 12400 Ford Rd in Farmers Branch in the Valwood industrial submarket. The deal included getting the property rezoned while also converting warehouse space. Here, Eliza, second from left, is between Colliers International’s Phil Rosenfeld and Matt Thompson and The Westwood School’s Heather Lourcey. (Phil and Matt repped the landlord, along with colleagues Allen Gump and Allyson Gump.)

Memorable projects: Dallas Children’s Theater purchase of a former bowling alley, SPCA’s purchase of a printing facility on I-30, Uplift Education’s purchase of a building in Deep Ellum for a high school, and the donation of $1M property to DallasCan Academy for a school.

Hometown: Dallas.

Currently live: North Dallas.

Why DFW? Can’t imagine living anywhere else.

School: Thomas Jefferson High School, BA from Emerson College, and MA from Purdue.

First job: Student Intern at KERA working for Jim Lehrer’s News Room program.

Persons (living or dead) to meet: Clara Barton, who’s experiences in the Civil War led to the founding of the American Red Cross; Elizabeth Cady Stanton, one of the leaders in 1920 who helped get the 19th Amendment ratified giving women in the US the right to vote; and Abby Rockefeller, who created the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Dolly Parton, who is a fabulous entertainer and businesswoman and Alice Walton, who’s incredible vision and taste lead to the creation of Crystal Bridges in Bentonville, Ark.

Greatest fear: Not spending enough time with my husband, Gary Scott.

Daily habit: I make apricot tea every morning for my husband and me. I bring it to him while he is still in bed.

Favorite music group/song: Donna Summer’s “She Works Hard for the Money.”

Favorite restaurants: Salum and Abacus.

Startling fact:  I had a very brief career as a model for Neiman Marcus … OK so it was only one photo in their catalog, but, it counts! I got paid.
