Twisted Root Burger Co  is making the 3700 SF retail portion its fourth location, with construction scheduled to start within 45 days. A burger joint near a college? Now we’ve seen everything. Prescott managing director Taylor Stone touts not just the cool urban feel, but that it’s 1,200 feet from a DART rail stop, 700 feet from a Kroger, and just a short walk from night life and restaurants. (Apologies to Kroger, if it thinks it should also fall under "night life".)

Taylor says he still sees the trend of people returning to the city seeking that pedestrian- friendly, live, work, and play environment. While the economy has stopped most new developments, Prescott is still building mixed-use ones to meet future demand: 420 apartments and 9000 SF of retail in the works down the street from The Shelby; and the master-planned Lake Highlands Town Center at Skillman & Walnut Hill will have a DART stop and 2M SF of mixed-use property in a town center-style development on 70 acres.
