Turner Construction: Rewinding Blockbusters

Turner Construction Company director Steve Whitcraft tells us our nation’s largest healthcare builder celebrated a December groundbreaking for the $40M addition to St. Anthony’s Hospital in Shawnee, Okla. (the first of two projects for St. Anthony’s). It was also awarded its third project for First Choice Emergency Rooms, which has been taking former Blockbusters locations and turning them into state-of-the-art emergency centers. (Remember when videotape rentals were hot?) Another example of how Turner maximizes underutilized, empty space is a renovation of three floors in the Dallas County Jail into a 392-bed clinic that'll save county taxpayers the cost of transporting prisoners to Parkland Hospital. Upcoming contract work includes infrastructure upgrades at Houston Methodist Hospital in the Texas Medical Center. Steve says if you’re not upgrading, you’re falling behind.
