Transwestern To Sell American Airlines' 1.4M SF Global HQ

With American Airlines employees relocating to a new corporate headquarters over the next 18 months, American retained Transwestern Commercial Services to help the airline sell its longtime home: a 1.39M SF campus near Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.

For decades, the three-building campus served as home to American’s worldwide headquarters and American Airlines Federal Credit Union.

The marketed property comes with 6.3 acres of raw land and offers investors an opportunity to add value to a large-scale office campus ripe for redevelopment.

Transwestern indicated in its announcement that the property “will trade at a significant discount to replacement cost.”

TSC Managing Director Mike Hardage is handling the sale of the property, which includes 4333, 4255, 4151 and 4101 Amon Carter Blvd. in Fort Worth.

"This offering presents an outstanding opportunity for a user or investor to acquire an ideally located office campus with excellent recruiting access to both Dallas and Fort Worth," Hardage said in a statement. "The property has been extremely well maintained and features a unique underground pedestrian tunnel that connects all three buildings. Furthermore, the Trinity Railway Express commuter train and station are only a 14-minute walk and offer 30-minute rides to both Dallas and Fort Worth."

The campus is situated in the center of the DFW Metroplex and stretches across 40 acres. The corporate campus also benefits from having DFW Airport immediately to its north.

American Airlines announced earlier this year that its corporate employees would relocate to the airline's new 300-acre campus in Fort Worth in stages starting this summer.
