Plans have been submitted for a multimillion-dollar facelift at Toyota Stadium in Frisco.

Ownership behind the stadium filed a permit with the state’s licensing and regulation department for a 130K SF expansion that would include new clubs and suites as well as a broadcast and press working space. A new canopy system with sports lighting is also included.
An anonymous source told the Dallas Business Journal the filing could be a forewarning for an even bigger project to be announced in the coming months, though they declined to elaborate further.
Toyota Stadium and its adjoining soccer center opened in 2005 at 9200 World Cup Way. The 145-acre facility is the home stadium for FC Dallas and is one of four base training camps assigned for the 2026 World Cup, per The Dallas Morning News.
Dallas will host more World Cup matches than any other city, as well as the semifinals on July 14, though the Metroplex lost out to MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, for the tournament’s final match.
The $130M Toyota Stadium project, designed by HKS, is slated to begin in January and take more than two years to complete.
