The Center has events planned ranging from sponsoring student art contests to holding monthly architecture film screenings. Created and funded by the Dallas AIA, the Center promotes discussion about architecture and design in a collaborative fashion. Greg, pointing out a model of the new Wyly Theatre in the Arts District here, says “Few of us pay attention to the great architectural detailing all around us. We all drive by and don’t even look up.”

In October 2008, the center opened at its location across from Woodall Rodgers and the Arts District (here with a view of the Woodall Rodgers construction equipment). Greg’s quick fact: the 72-story Bank of America building is the tallest Dallas skyscraper, and he recommends checking out the elaborate beaux arts rooftops of the Adolphus Hotel; most people, he wagers, have never even looked up at the historic 1915 hotel to notice. The Center offers a film on the second Wednesday of each month, and an architectural drawing exhibit currently fills the Center.
