Grab your batteries and get ready to go green. Earth Day’s coming, so the folks at EFH Properties Co put the two together and started an annual tradition to recycle some of the three billion dry-cell batteries bought annually. (Alright, who's still using a disc-man? 'Fess up.)

Here’s Transwestern property managers Lisha George and David Bryant (pictured at the 2014 Toby Awards where they won the southwest region award in the Earth category and will advance to international in June). Lisha tells us each year during Earth Week, Techway Services delivers the large bins in the lobby for tenants to drop off recyclable electronics. The benefit is a convenient, safe alternative to rid their homes and offices of old electronics. That benefits the environment by reducing greenhouse emissions and avoiding toxic waste, which can cause soil pollution, Lisha tells us. Last year, Energy Plaza collected 5,088 pounds, Mesquite collected 345 pounds, COF- Irving collected 249 pounds, and Sierra- Irving collected 300 pounds.
