In that spirit, we're treating you to a spring break destination we've visited: TheWizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando Resort. The WW of HP opened June 18 at an estimated price tag of $265M. (Even on vacation, we get the essential facts.) Harry Potter film series and theme park art director Alan Gilmore says the rigorous pushing of detail is beyond compare. ?Our mantra was authenticity, and there's hardly a corner that doesn't have some amazing quality of detail, finish, and paint,? he says. The Hogsmeade storefronts display everything from Quidditch supplies to Gilderoy Lockhartbooks. And unlike an actual real estate story, a zombie asset here would not just fit in, it would be applauded.
