During an otherwise typical property tour of 101 Cole Ave, Stream Realty Partners SVP Jason Moser found a piece of family history: an old leasing sign from the 1950s from his grandfather’s and great uncle’s real estate company.

Jason (left, with Posh Couture owners Jami Goetze and Laurel Howell) tells us the site was Trammell Crow’s first building developed in 1948 and is still owned by the Crow family. Jason’s grandfather, Jack Moser, and great-uncle AC Moser (who is also the grandfather of Stream Data Centers’ Paul Moser) were leasing the building as partners at the Moser Co, which started in 1910. Jason tells us he knew that his grandfather’s company had done a lot of work with Crow when he was taking the Posh owners on a tour (they eventually signed for 25k SF.)

Jason, here with his grandfather, Jack, says the sign was in great shape. It features hand painting and a phone number with no area code. Jason says he frequently meets people who worked with his grandfather, but he’d never seen one of the signs. More interesting, Jason says, is that Moser Co was repping the Crow building. At that time, tenant reps were just starting to bloom; most of Trammell Crow Co’s dealings were made directly with the landlord.

Jason’s dad, Larry Moser, is carrying on the Moser Co family name—buying and selling property along the Stemmons Corridor. He tells us his great-grandfather came from the Netherlands in 1878 and started the first dairy in Dallas at Ross and Henderson, then at Lombardi and Harry Hines, and one in White Rock land. The families sold the dairies and kept the 60 acres at Henderson, he tells us. If you drive around, you’ll run across Moser Street in that area.
