GOOD KIND OF BLUES

The North Texas Commercial Association of Realtors and Real Estate Professionals Young Professionals Forum (or the The Kids You Wanted to Sit with in the Cafeteria But Were Too Shy to Ask,for short) partied at the House of Blues in Uptown late last week.

Bisnow caught up with JLL’s Justin MoonChelsea Parker, and Henry S. Miller’s Brendon Fitzgerald, and John Bielamowicz. Remember Warren Buffett’s recent $44 billion deal to purchase BNSF? Well Justin’s been working on that railroad, doing land sale dispositions. Also, just to pass the time away, he organizes community events for TREC’s Associate Leadership Council. Brendon has properties listed in an HSM auction coming up. (Tuesday’s Bisnow provides the details.) With three young children and a wife, he spends much of his free time on the playground, at the arboretum, or The Purple Cow.

Keys 2 It All VP Becca Atherton and prez Fatima Fisher liquidate assets for investors across the Metroplex. Becca says business is brisk, with no pocket of industry or region moving faster than another. Everyone is suffering equally.

Pillar Commercial's Nick Clark and Venture Commercial VP Don Miller have their plates filled (not even referring to the hors d’oeuvres). Nick says he has 150K SF  for lease at Meadow Park Tower on Central Expressway, which is Pillar’s flagship building. Venture focuses on retail, leasing 18M SF of shopping center properties and repping 105  tenants on a national and local basis. Don reports a uptick  in retail interest here.

John pops into a second photo this issue (a rarity for us) but he’s gladly upstaged by InTrust Mortgage’s Mary Ann Comparin and KW Commercial’s Margaret O’Brien. He just picked up a 90K SF industrial sale/lease project near The Ballpark in Arlington. Industrial space dominates his work, but home life could be This Old House, as renovations are in the works.

Land developer Roger Fraley, Colliers Intl's Marisa Schroede r, and The Weitzman Group's Jonathan Tobolowsky  discovered a shared interest in aviation. Roger flies small aircraft out of Addison’s airport, while Marisa’s husband is a pilot. Soaring high in projects, Roger has retail and restaurant properties in the works in Lewisville as well as two marinas on Lake Texoma. He tells us prices are right for development even though a lot of people are afraid to jump in, and adds that lending is not nearly as bad as people keep saying.
