Brian Oley: Giving Thanks

JLL associate director mission critical solutions Brian Oley— here at the TREC Giving Gala last month with wife, Jessica— says he has a three-pronged approach to thanks and giving: professionally, service, and personal. At work, Brian says he's thankful to be a four-time contributor to the Data Centre Barometer. There's a trend for enterprise data center users who have transitioned from large footprints that demand vast amounts of space and power (100k SF-plus with virtually unlimited power) to much smaller ones (plus or minus 10k to 20k SF, and plus or minus 2M SF) that have adequate infrastructure built-in for easy expansion of both space and power, if desired. He says the trend is global and not just regional.
In the community this past spring, Brian joined the MLK Community Center Board of Directors and is helping with a Jan. 15 event recognizing the legacy of the Martin Luther King Jr. (Tickets at MLK Celebration Dallas.) He's pictured with some of the board members: (Back) Randall ParkerJerry ToddToni Rose, and Brian; (front)Sandra BiggsSandra Broden  and Lois Lilly. Personally, this is a very special Thanksgiving for him. On Feb. 4, his family grew with the birth of his first child, son Jude Thomas. “This has been the greatest thing to ever happen to me. It's been a heavy adjustment, but to state the obvious, it's worth every minute of it." To ease the tensions rising college tuition, Brian says he's hopeful that JLL's Dallas Cowboy legend Roger Staubach will give his future TCU Horned Frog quarterback (its never too early to be purple) some early lessons on how to throw a perfect spiral.
