| Brand Capital Partners kicked off 2011 with a donation of 50 bicycles to the good folks at The Bicycle Garden, one of the charitable arms of Mercy Street Pathways Program, which uses thebike shop for vocational education and training for dozens of neighborhood kids each year. Donated bicycles are repaired by the kids, with professional assistance. Brand Capital Partners managing partner Jeff Brand reached out to friends and CRE colleagues for the contributions and was surprised by the overwhelming response. He plans to organize additional bike drives this spring and summer.Johnny Garippa, who directs Mercy Street?s Pathways Program, also makes bikes available through the Earn-A-Bike Program, which gives kids a chance to earn a bike by working at the bike shop or in Mercy Street?s community garden. |
