GE Healthcare Moving HQ To Chicago

GE Healthcare is moving its corporate HQ from London to 500 W Monroe. The move is expected to be completed sometime this year.

GE Healthcare will move into 54k SF already leased by another GE subsidiary, GE Transportation. The move is spurred by the company's wish to be based in the US, which is its biggest market for life sciences, digital imaging and information technology. It serves as a sort of homecoming for GE Healthcare, which started in Chicago as Victor Electric in the late 19th century.

Piedmont signed Motorola Solutions to a six-floor, 150k SF lease last September. According to the MB Real Estate Index on downtown office vacancy rates, the top nine floors (231k SF) of the building were vacant prior to the Motorola lease.
