Hyde Park's hottest new mixed-use project opened with a bang last Friday, featuring an early AM ribbon cutting followed by an evening celebration with Grammy Award-winning artist Estelle. (Good luck to the next ribbon cutting--they'll need Adele and Beyonce flying in from the rafters.)

Snapped at Harper Court: Pircher, Nichols & Meeks' David Pezza; Canyon Johnson Urban Funds' Gerald Goldman; Vermilion Development's Dave Cocagne; and Canyon Johnson's Tammy Ho. Located at the corner of 53rd and Lake Park, the project has been a public/private partnership among UChicago, the City, Vermilion Development, and JFJ Development. Tenants include LA Fitness, ULTA, and Chipotle in 75k SF of retail, along with 150k SF of office space from UChicago and 131 hotel rooms by Hyatt. The area's pent-up demand from retailers interested Vermilion, and Dave Cocagne will tell us more about the long road to the ribbon cutting at Bisnow's Chicago Construction & Development Summit on Nov. 19.
