Marcus & Millichap Chicago O’Hare regional manager Steve Rachman caught this four-pound smallmouth on the first cast of a five-day trip on Trout Lake in the Boundary Waters in 2009. “No one in our party, including me, caught another fish for four days!” he says. (Lesson: Even if the Cubs win their home opener, keep the champagne on ice.) He tries to go up there annually, a great way to disconnect in one million acres of wilderness. Last year, Steve went back into management (of the firm's office at Cumberland and Bryn Mawr), and he’s enjoying using a broad array of his skills to develop talent. It’s returned in spades, he says, now that the market is back.
