Bisnow is on the ground at the 35th annual NYU hospitality conference in Manhattan, where international expansion was a hot topic at the popular "CEOs Check In" panel. Carlson CEO Trudy Rautio says she's not only looking atIndia and China, but Africa, where there's a lot of opportunity and potential in the sub-Saharan area. Host Hotels CEO Ed Walter (who played host, given he owns conference digs Marriott Marquis Times Square) expressed concern about India and rate declines he's seen there, but noted that Latin America is on his radar, despite difficulty developing there.
